Canceling a parts order.
This will demonstrate how to cancel a parts order.
There are two different methods for order cancellation. If the order is at status 3 or below you will be able to cancel the order in the ORDER screen. If the order is at status 5, you will need to bring the order down to status 3. This can be done on the ORDEREL screen.
The first thing you will need to do is check the order status. This can be done on the CUSORD screen.
For a status 3 or lower order you will need to bring the order up in the ORDER screen.
Click the "delete order flag" box and then click the red "X" near the top of the screen.
A box will pop up for cancellation notes. Be sure to enter the reason for the cancellation and who requested it.
Click the continue button. Now the order is canceled.
For a status 5 order you will need to bring the order status down to 3.
To do this you will need access to the ORDEREL screen and the ability to bring an order status down. If you are unsure if you have these permissions give it a try and see what happens. (if you do not have permission to make these changes you will not be able to make any changes so you can't break anything)
Bring up the ORDEREL screen and enter the order number.
You will need to change the status box from 5 to 3. Then in the "all?" box enter Y for yes.
Save the change and this will update the status for all lines on the order.
You can then follow the steps listed in the first section to cancel the order.
